Project Overview

This project delivers a full-process PLC automatic control system for a large modern coal washing plant in Mongolia, covering the whole production chain from raw coal receiving, crushing, separation to dewatering. The integrated digital control solution drastically cuts manual operation, stabilizes production continuity and upgrades overall beneficiation efficiency.System Solution & Core Functions

Core Control Hardware & Software

We adopt Siemens S7-1500 PLC as the core control unit, with TIA Portal and STEP 7 Professional software for full programming, graphic configuration and program debugging. Through PROFINET industrial bus, the system achieves seamless communication with all field sensors, actuators and variable frequency drives. It undertakes full-process data collection, logical operation, automatic instruction issuance and real-time fault diagnosis to ensure coordinated, precise operation of every working procedure.

Automatic Coal Washing Process Control

Raw coal receiving & conveying
After raw coal is unloaded by the tippler, the PLC governs belt conveyors to transport materials at constant speed to the crushing section, and dynamically adjusts crushing granularity based on real-time coal quality data.

Intelligent separation adjustment
The system automatically optimizes operating parameters of heavy medium cyclones, flotation machines and other core sorting equipment according to coal texture indicators to realize high-efficiency clean coal separation.

Real-time energy-saving optimization
The PLC continuously monitors critical indicators including dewatering machine rotation speed, medium concentration and tank liquid level, and dynamically optimizes equipment operating status to reduce medium loss and power consumption.

Upper Computer Central Monitoring Platform

WINCC Professional is deployed as the HMI supervision platform to build a visualized graphical operation interface. It displays real-time equipment operating status and full-process parameter trend curves, supports remote online parameter modification, audible & visual fault alarms, and long-term historical production data archiving. Only two operators on duty in the central control room are capable of completing full-plant production management.

On-site Delivery & Customer FeedbackOur professional technical team traveled to the customer’s site to complete full equipment installation, wiring, program commissioning and system joint debugging. The entire automation system passed one-time acceptance and achieved successful startup without repeated adjustments.
